Touchdown! I finished my exhibition piece for the Stitches in Bloom show in Silverton which takes place the third week of this month. What a relief. It always fascinates me how you can work so hard on a quilt or anything, and by the time you finish, it feels as if it should be something more, something bigger, if even in size. After I faced the edges, my quilt looked like it had shrunk too much. In truth, it’s the size I intended. I had simply gotten used to working with a larger piece of fabric. But I should also add what a great way to start the New Year–finishing a piece from the last.
After I have the quilt professionally photographed, I’ll add it to my gallery.

“Z” is for Zinnias, “C” is for Cosmos

Detail
Professionally photographed? From the picture on the main blog I thought this post was about gardening and this was a picture of your GARDEN! That is how perfect this picture is!
These flowers are exquisite! Oh my gosh! The detail and I can only begin to imagine the work involved. I love the petals on the flowers, how you have solid leaves and skeleton leaves and how the ration of the solid to skeleton changes as you look to the back of the garden. And is that a butterfly on the orange zinnia about a third of the way down from the top and a fifth of the way in from the left?
Sigh … yet another quilt to stalk.
