Twenty Perspectives is an exhibition group of international textile artists from ten countries and four continents:
North and South America, Europe, and Australia.
The group formed in October of 2021 through a call placed by organizer Susan Callahan on Studio Art Quilt Associates’ (SAQA) Facebook page. I love travel and all its facets, including culture, cuisine, architecture and history. This was an opportunity to meet fiber artists in other countries, learn about them, join together in like-minded aspirations, and in a sense travel vicariously.
Along with our desire to work with an international group of members, we have the goal to share our art with fellow fiber artists. As we create our work, we record the steps through photos and written notes. Our blog posts feature completed artwork, as well as some in-progress posts, along with images and text describing inspiration and techniques.
Exhibitions
We have three themed exhibitions a year. Our first was “Bridges” and the second “Doors, Portals, and Windows”. In 2022 “Bridges” was exhibited in Germany and France and then traveled through the Mancuso quilt shows in the US. We continue to show our art in a variety of shows, galleries, and museums around the world.
