I learned today Sandra Little, a fellow “Iris” and London City and Guilds candidate, passed away earlier this year. We completed Part I embroidery and design between 1995 and 1998. Sandy went on to study further with Gail Harker at her center, developing a distinctive style. I judged the La Conner Quilt and Fiber Fest twice over the past few years. The first year we awarded first place to a piece that the moment, I saw it I thought of Sandy. After judging was complete, I checked and sure enough it was her. The second time, same thing. She tells a story through her vignettes with wonderfully expressive figures and a sly sense of humor.
