I had a second article published in the March issue of American Quilter magazine. This piece described a group quilt created by Art Quilts, Etc, a membership circle within Desert Quilters of Nevada. While group quilts are not unusual, this one titled Views of the Mojave, has a unique twist. There are three panels with six blocks per panel and seven dimensional elements. Two different people created each background block and each three-dimensional piece, which meant when the quilt was assembled, there were two choices for each. The group’s members felt their strategy would result in a stronger piece. See for yourself the beautiful result. And never fear the other blocks and elements were wasted, as they were assembled into a second piece. I thank the members of Art Quilts, Etc for their patience as the article was published two years after I submitted it.
