Amy Vetter, the designer and maker of this fairy tale quilt does a wonderful job detailing her creative process step by step through photos and text on her blog. http://amysetcetera.blogspot.com/2015/09/international-fairy-tale-challenge.html I love her title and urge you to read her post and learn how she came up with the name “Social Climbing.”
There are a number of other things I really admire about Amy’s piece. She did research. Speaking as someone who loves to do research for her fiber work and the articles she writes, I was excited to read about someone else taking the time to do this. Next, Amy designed not only a great composition but one with depth. And how can you not love the cottager’s cap. As a viewer, I feel as if I could step into the scene.
