In continuing with my posts on the International Fairy/Folk tale challenge, I’m featuring Pinocchio by Emily Stevens. She writes of her piece, “After looking through many children’s books on the fairy tale and making several original drawings, it was fun coming up with my own original image of Geppetto and Pinocchio. After that, it was hand painted, appliquéd, and quilted.”
Personally, I find it fascinating to see how each of the thirty quilters interpreted the fairy/folk tales. It will be long a time until I get to see how the French and Japanese quilters do the same. Darn!

Hi Kathie! I am enjoying your new website and blog. I see you have been busy and travelling. Nice. It was fun to see the yellow bicycle photos from our trip. Fond memories.

Maureen–how great to hear from you. I think of our Food and Fiber Lovers’ trip often and would love to go again. I keep waiting for Kathy to schedule a trip with the Birmingham Quilt Festival or Alexandra Palace as part of the itinerary. Somehow we need to get together again. With the holiday season nearly upon us, I wish you a lovely one.
