I’m a member of the Visions Art Museum. As an artist and particularly someone who works with fiber and mixed media, it’s important to me to support this museum where fiber is the focus. As luck would have it, my son lives in San Diego where Visions is located, so when I visit him, I make a point to see the museum’s latest exhibition.
Visions Art Museum members with artist benefits can participate in four online exhibitions a year. As a bonus the museum links your website or blog linked from the Visions Art Museum website, and you receive complimentary entry fees for all Visions juried exhibitions.
The current theme is appropriately enough “Summertime”. I’ve never submitted before, but I happened to have a quilt that fit the theme perfectly, and it was juried in. I invite you to take a look at the quilts which range from whimsical to abstract. Some of you may recognize my entry. It’s a quilt I made for a National Quilt Association Certified Judges’ traveling exhibition. My quilt was inspired by Cannon Beach on the north Oregon coast, where kites are often seen flying.
