Do you enter judged quilt shows? Are you interested in becoming a quilt judge yourself? Are you responsible for setting up and running your guild show? If any one or all three of these describe you, I have a two-day quilt judging seminar coming up here in the Pacific Northwest at the Clark County Quilters’ show next April. The workshop is completely interactive through a combination of PowerPoint presentations, question and answer sessions, and hands-on mock judging–solo and with partners–just as judges encounter during actual judging. Topics include what to look for in design and workmanship, how to phrase comments for entrant feedback, the business of judging–contracts, website, fee schedules, and efficient judging room set-up, among others. My goal is to build skill and confidence so when you judge you feel comfortable and knowledgeable. You will be judging in front of other quilters who consider you the expert.

Judging small quilts as well as large requires judges to step back for initial visual impact.

The workshop is already half full, so if you are interested, e-mail me and I will add your name to the list. When the workshop fills, I will request payment.
